Seals, bushings, and dry friction — base and impregnations

Carbon-graphite family

Mechanical carbon-graphite is the sliding material for seals, bushings, vanes, and friction faces when you need self-lubrication, chemical resistance, and thermal stability — dry or in demanding fluids.

Within the same family there are base grades and impregnated grades. Impregnation (resin, metal, or others) closes porosity, improves sealing, or raises wear life and conductivity depending on duty. The exact grade is confirmed at quote against load, speed, counterface, atmosphere, and temperature.

TypeTypical role
Base gradeDry friction, seals, and bushings in general service
Resin impregnationLower porosity and better sealing
Metal impregnationHigher conductivity and wear resistance
Other impregnationsCorrosion, oxidation, or special duty

Forms: blocks, plates, rings, and machined parts. Inventory and CNC in García, N.L.

Resin impregnation

Vacuum resin impregnation reduces open porosity and improves sealing versus a base grade. Prefer for mechanical seals, bearings, and parts that need low porosity or more controlled friction.

Metal impregnation

Metal impregnation raises density, conductivity, and wear resistance. Prefer when friction life, electrical contacts, or heavier duty matter more than resin or base grades.

Any grade in this family can also be delivered as a finished part: we CNC machine to your drawing, sample or 3D model. Tolerances, impregnation and finish are confirmed in technical review.
