Anti-stick coating for construction equipment

Graphite coating for buckets, hoppers, excavators, and tools, to reduce material build-up in construction and mining.

Bucket and hopper anti-stick coating

Also known as: Anti-stick coating for buckets · Excavator hopper lubricant · Anti-stick for shovels and tools · Paint to prevent material build-up

Graphite film that reduces material sticking in buckets and hoppers.

[ Technical summary ]

Wet or abrasive material sticks to buckets, hoppers, and tools and forces stops for cleaning. A graphite coating forms a film that reduces that sticking and rubbing wear. It does not remove plant cleaning; it reduces how often material stays stuck. Application method and re-coating are set by the machine cycle.

Each process needs a specific product and application method. ESGRAF selects the solution according to temperature, material, load, cycle, and application method.

[ Problem it solves ]

Reduce material build-up on buckets, hoppers, and tools without a grease that attracts more dirt.

Processes

  • Material loading and unloading
  • Bucket or hopper coating

Operating conditions

  • Contact with soil, aggregate, or ore
  • Outdoor operation

When it is suitable

  • Material sticks to the bucket or hopper
  • Frequent cleaning stops the loading cycle
  • Rubbing wear from the material needs reducing

When it may not be suitable

  • The machine manufacturer forbids coatings on that surface
  • The material must not be contaminated with black residue
  • The surface tolerates no black residue and there will be no cleaning stage

Process challenges

  • Sticking of wet material
  • Abrasive wear of the coating
  • Reapplication in the field

Advantages

  • Less build-up in bucket and hopper
  • Less mess than heavy greases
  • Reduces rubbing and surface wear

Limitations

  • Does not eliminate plant cleaning
  • The coating wears with the abrasive
  • May stain the material if contact is intense
