Thermal textile for stitching and auxiliary sealing

Graphite thread is produced from fibers subjected to carbonization and graphitization processes. The result is a high-temperature-resistant thread with low friction and good stability against aggressive media.

ESGRAF supplies it for sewing soft felts, fabricating packing reinforcements, tying elements in furnaces and other applications requiring a flexible element that does not degrade with heat.

Typical applications

  • Joining and reinforcing soft felt in heat-treatment and vacuum furnaces.
  • Complement in sealing systems together with braided packing or flexible laminates.
  • Liners, ties and auxiliary elements in high-temperature equipment.

Service properties

  • Thermal resistance in inert or controlled atmospheres.
  • Low friction and good thermal conductivity compared to organic fibers.
  • Superior chemical resistance to conventional threads in aggressive media.

Do not confuse with structural carbon fiber (HT/UHT): graphite thread is intended for textile and insulation applications, not structural mechanical loads such as aerospace composites.
