**High-density graphite** is synthetic graphite with high apparent density, controlled grain, and good machinability. It is supplied as blocks, plates, cylinders, discs, and rings, and machined to drawing when needed.

It is used for crucibles, molds (sintering, glass, jewelry, exothermic welding), dies, continuous-casting components, and parts that need dimensional stability under temperature and load. Typical density 1.78–1.90 g/cm³; grade is confirmed by application.

It is also known as isostatic, isomolded, molded, or vibration-molded graphite according to the consolidation technique.

## Frequently asked questions

### Are isostatic, isomolded, molded, and vibration-molded different materials?

No. They are consolidation techniques for the same high-density graphite. Grade is defined by density, grain, and application.

### When is it preferred over extruded graphite?

High-density when uniformity, fine grain, or precision machined parts are required. Extruded fits rods, tubes, heaters, and furnace parts when lower loads and anisotropy are acceptable.

### Are seals and bushings high-density graphite?

Those sliding mechanical duties are usually solved with mechanical carbon-graphite (base or impregnated). High-density covers blocks and parts that prioritize density, grain, and precision machining.
